Goa Ore Transport

Goa government mineral-ore transport data β€” permits, truck/barge trips, and closing stock β€” reconstructed from RTI applications (data collected by Rahul Basu, shared via the datameet list). Covers 1-Apr-2020 β†’ 2025 (permits) and 25-Mar-2024 onward (trips).

Ore streams: imported (a.k.a. Captive β€” ore brought from overseas / other states for consumption or re-export), royalty (Goa-mined, royalty paid), and eauction (Goa ore sold via government e-auction). Three software eras feed the permits: Megasoft (pre-GEL), and Old / New Bhumija (GEL).

Locations are messy free text; location_aliases maps every raw string to a canonical_name in locations. Coordinates are a partial, best-effort geocode (see geocode_source) and some are approximate.
